India, October 9, 2026: DBS Bank India has launched the ability for customers to make Customs Duty, Central Excise and Service Tax payments through the ICEGATE 2.0 platform, expanding its statutory payment offerings for businesses. The new service complements the bank’s existing GST and Direct Tax payment capabilities, allowing businesses to manage a broader range of tax obligations via the DBS IDEAL platform.
With this addition, DBS Bank India becomes the only wholly owned subsidiary in India to support all three major central tax payment categories—GST, Direct Tax, and Customs-related taxes—through government platforms. The move comes as India’s merchandise imports reached US$363 billion and exports rose to US$215.9 billion during April-August FY2026-27, according to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
Integration with ICEGATE 2.0
Through integration with ICEGATE (Indian Customs Electronic Gateway) 2.0, DBS Bank India customers can initiate and complete payments for Customs Duty, Central Excise and Service Tax directly from DBS IDEAL. ICEGATE serves as the national trade portal and digital interface between the trading community and Indian Customs, facilitating e-payments for trade-related taxes.
The service is available daily from 4:00 AM to 11:00 PM, including weekends. Existing DBS IDEAL customers with tax-payment entitlements can access the facility without additional documentation. The platform allows users to initiate, authorise, and track payments, as well as download payment records for enhanced visibility and control.
Unified statutory payments platform
Divyesh Dalal, Managing Director and Country Head, Global Transaction Services, Corporate Banking – Financial Institutions and SMEs, DBS Bank India, said the addition of Customs Duty, Central Excise and Service Tax payments strengthens the bank’s statutory payments proposition, which now includes Direct Taxes, TDS and GST. “Customers can now manage their statutory payment obligations through a unified platform that provides enhanced control, visibility and operational efficiency. This launch reflects our commitment to removing friction from business processes so that our customers can focus on driving growth,” Dalal said.
Recent digital banking enhancements
Earlier this month, DBS Bank India enhanced its merchant collections platform, DBS MAX, by adding payment orchestration capabilities powered by Juspay. This allows businesses to manage multiple payment aggregators through a single integration and provides a consolidated view of collections, refunds and reconciliation.
