India, October 9, 2026: DBS Bank India has launched Customs Duty, Central Excise and Service Tax payment capabilities through the ICEGATE 2.0 platform, expanding its suite of statutory payment services for businesses. The new facility complements the bank’s existing GST and Direct Tax payment offerings, allowing customers to manage all major central tax payments via the DBS IDEAL platform.
With this addition, DBS Bank India becomes the only wholly owned subsidiary in the country to provide payment support for GST, Direct Tax, and Customs-related taxes through government platforms. The move comes as India’s merchandise imports reached US$363 billion and exports hit US$215.9 billion during April-August FY2026-27, according to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, reflecting an 18.2% year-on-year increase in imports.
ICEGATE 2.0 integration for businesses
Through integration with ICEGATE 2.0, the Indian Customs National Trade Portal, DBS Bank India customers can now complete Customs Duty, Central Excise and Service Tax payments directly from DBS IDEAL. The platform allows businesses to initiate, authorise, and track payments, select DBS Bank as their banking partner, and download payment records for enhanced visibility and control.
The service is available daily from 4:00 AM to 11:00 PM, including weekends. Existing DBS IDEAL customers with the required tax-payment entitlement can access the facility without additional documentation.
Unified statutory payments platform
Divyesh Dalal, Managing Director and Country Head, Global Transaction Services, Corporate Banking – Financial Institutions and SMEs, DBS Bank India, said the addition of Customs Duty, Central Excise and Service Tax payments further strengthens the bank’s statutory payments proposition, which now includes Direct Taxes, TDS and GST. “Customers can now manage their statutory payment obligations through a unified platform that provides enhanced control, visibility and operational efficiency,” Dalal said.
Recent digital banking developments
Earlier this month, DBS Bank India enhanced its merchant collections platform, DBS MAX, by adding a payment orchestration capability powered by Juspay. This allows businesses to manage multiple payment aggregators through a single integration and provides a consolidated view of collections, refunds and reconciliation.
