DBS Bank India enables Customs, Excise and Service Tax payments via ICEGATE 2.0

India, October 9, 2026: DBS Bank India has launched Customs Duty, Central Excise and Service Tax payment capabilities through the ICEGATE 2.0 platform, expanding its statutory payment offerings for businesses. The new service allows customers to manage these payments alongside GST and Direct Tax obligations through the bank’s DBS IDEAL platform.

With this addition, DBS Bank India becomes the only wholly owned subsidiary in the country to support all three major central tax payment categories—GST, Direct Tax, and Customs-related taxes—via government platforms. The move comes as India’s merchandise imports reached US$363 billion and exports US$215.9 billion during April–August FY2026-27, according to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

ICEGATE 2.0 integration for businesses

The integration with ICEGATE 2.0, the Indian Customs National Trade Portal, enables customers to initiate and complete Customs Duty, Central Excise and Service Tax payments through DBS IDEAL. The service is available daily from 4:00 AM to 11:00 PM, including weekends. Existing DBS IDEAL customers with the required tax-payment entitlement can access the facility without additional documentation, and can initiate, authorise, and track payments using the platform’s approval workflows and transaction monitoring features.

Enhanced statutory payment proposition

Divyesh Dalal, Managing Director and Country Head, Global Transaction Services, Corporate Banking – Financial Institutions and SMEs, DBS Bank India, said the addition of these payment capabilities further strengthens the bank’s statutory payments proposition, which now covers Direct Taxes, TDS, and GST. “Customers can now manage their statutory payment obligations through a unified platform that provides enhanced control, visibility and operational efficiency,” Dalal said.

Recent digital banking developments

Earlier in October, DBS Bank India enhanced its merchant collections platform, DBS MAX, by adding payment orchestration capabilities powered by Juspay. This allows businesses to manage multiple payment aggregators through a single integration, with consolidated views of collections, refunds and reconciliation.
