Ten Day Street Food Festival At Courtyard By Marriott will begin soon

Raipur, 21st January, 2021: It’s celebration time for all the foodies in the city as Courtyard by Marriott, Raipur is organizing a 10 day Street Food festival beginning Friday at its multi cuisine restaurant – MoMo Café between 7 to 11 pm. It will focus on an elaborate array of mouth watering Indian street food. There would be special live counters to get instantly cooked steaming hot dishes. These counters will have local sounding names such as Paranthewali Gali, Kaake Da Dhaba, Kolkata Roll Counter, Anna Kee Tapari and Surat Ka Cheela Counter. 

Rajneesh Kumar, General Manager, Courtyard by Marriott, Raipur while addressing a press conference to announce the Street Food Festival said “There is something about the familiar streets of one’s hometown and there’s definitely something about the street food found in those very lanes. Indian street food is a delicious aromatic blend of spices, a balance of sweet, sour, spicy and tangy flavours, often in one dish, but in a variety of textures. Not only does Indian street food represent bold, unrestricted flavours, it is also a reflection of our diverse culture and tastes in different parts of the country.”

Food festival will witness authentic recipes drawn from the by-lanes of cities like Delhi, Amritsar, Kolkata, Patna and Mumbai. Some of them include Soya Keema Kulche, Keema and Sprouts Parathas, Makke Dee Roti Sarso Da Saag, Kaathi and Paneer Chicken Rolls, Mithila Ka Litti Chokha, Punjabi Lassi and Chhach, Appam Stew, Kanjivaram Idli, Poori Masala Dosa and Surat Ke Besan Wale Cheele. 

Anuj Singh, Executive Chef, Courtyard by Marriott, Raipur said “Rich in flavours and abounding in the use of local produce and spices, street food in India is a treasure of recipes, many of which have been preserved and cherished for over a century now. Others have evolved over the years.”

He further said that in this festival, the most popular street cuisines of different states are being prepared by the expert chefs of the hotel. The street dishes, which are considered as the identity of every state, have been included in this fest.
