Rob Gronkowski jumped out of an airplane and landed to an offer.
When the former NFL tight end went skydiving at the United States Air Force Academy in El Paso County, Colorado on Nov. 11, he did so without USAA insurance, despite being a paid endorser of it, he admitted during an appearance on the Dan Patrick Show on Saturday.
Gronkowski, who said he was too scared initially to jump by himself and needed a push from an assistant on the plane, landed in a crowd of about 200 Air Force cadets. The cadets were all curious if the jump had earned the four-time Super Bowl champion USAA insurance, to which he told them no.
USAA is a financial services company providing insurance and banking products exclusively to military members, veterans and familiesBut one cadet had a solution that involved one of the oldest tricks to getting insurance.
“One of the cadets was like, ‘marry my sister! That will get you USAA,'” Gronkowski said.
However, Gronkowsk has been in a relationship with Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model Camille Kostek since September 2015.
Gronkowski, who has been partnered with USAA to promote the service since 2021, has said he wants to become a USAA member. But he has never served in the military. But he did deliver two cars to Army veteran Robert Trevino and Navy Petty Officer Kyle Kohlgraf ahead of Saturday’s Army-Navy football game, per multiple reports.
