Month Long Energy Conservation Drive “Saksham” Concludes


Raipur : In order to create awareness towards Clean & Green Energy a month long awareness drive “Saksham” was organised by Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA) in Chhattisgarh from January 16th to February 15th. The drive which was also suppored by various petroleum companies and Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Government Of India concluded yesterday.

According to a press release issued by PCRA this year the drive was inaugurated by Tamradhwaj Sahu, Minister of Public Works Department, Home, Jail, Dharmik Nyas and Dharmasv, Tourism on 16th Jan 2021 and the closing ceremony was addressed by Mohammad Akbar, Minister of Transport, Environment, Housing & Law through video Conference on 15th February 2021.

The press release stated that optimal use of petroleum products will not only help in managing the natural resources for human use on a long run but also this will help in declining the pollution level thus improving the livability condition. Focus to bring more cleaner fuel in time to come is also urged upon. Production of fuel from waste material is also addressed.

Hon’ble Minister Sri Mohammad Akbar has applauded the Oil Companies  for conducting the month long program so well and also appeal to the common public to switch off vehicle at Red signal at Traffic junction, use of gas at low flame, use of cycle etc. and also advised individuals to come forward to install Compressed Bio-Gas plants in the state. Present Govt. initiative to produce ethanol from rice husk and bran is also emphasized upon so that this will help India to become more self reliance in petroleum products. All help in this regard will be assured by the present State Govt. to the Oil industry at large as confirmed by Hon’ble Minister.

The event was culminated in presence of Shri Santosh Kumar, State Level Coordinator and Chief Divisional retail sales Manager IndianOil Corporation Ltd, Sri Abhijeet Panari Deputy General Manager Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd and Sri Brijesh Kumar Chief Regional Manager of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd.
