Nova Realtime Solutions LLP & Real Estate Study Circle, in association with National Real Estate Development Council (NAREDCO), organised a very Informative, Futuristic and Thought-provoking Webinar on “Sustainable Future Living” on July 15, 2021.
The webinar was witness to an impressive line of panellists consisting, Ashok Mohanani – NAREDCO Maharashtra President & Chairman, Ekta World Group, Mumbai, Ravi Aggarwal – Co-Founder & Managing Director, Signature Global Group. Delhi, Prashant Sutaria – Principal Architect, PSA, and co-founder of CELPT- Centre of living and planning for tomorrow and Manish Chhaochharia –
Principal Designer. H.V. Designs Pvt Ltd.
The webinar was moderated by senior journalist Ritwik Mukherjee.
Sounding the alarm bell, Ashok Mohanani said, “Sustainable Living is a basic necessity and not a luxury. It is very crucial for our future generations and the globe per se, if we do not adapt to the technology that supports sustainable living, we would become extinct species. Hence, all stakeholders must get together to accomplish this mission, and make this world a better place. It is now or never situation.”
Emphasising on five R’s, Ashok Mohanani added, “Five Rs – Refuse, Reuse, Reduce, Repurpose and Recycle are most critical components of sustainability.”
Ravi Agarwal, Co-Founder & Managing Director, Signature Global Group. Delhi, added a practical dimension, “We need to have a practical view for faster implementation. The survival will come after cost-benefit analysis like Government should incentivise by granting extra FAR to green developments, developers should use the material which causes minimum damage to nature, NHBs should provide land on concessional rates and customers should be incentivised in home loans by basis point reduction, if opting for green buildings. This way a whole ecosystem would be in place.”
He added, “Ultimately, the aim is to provide living and become sustainable too.”
Prashant Sutaria – Principal Architect, PSA, and co-founder of CELPT- Centre of living and planning for tomorrow noted a very pertinent point, “We should be conscious of the fact with regard to construction, that we cause minimum damage to the environment. Moreover, sustainable buildings should be climate-responsive too. We should develop microclimate by using simple technologies. To be sustainable is not an option but a compulsion.”
Manish Chhaochharia, Principal Designer. H.V. Designs Pvt Ltd. raising concern, added, “We should practice, what we preach. The need of the hour is to create awareness, we as a developing nation are a little slow on this front. There is a need to create natural reserves for our future generations. Lifestyle changes are evident in the current scenario hence green living makes a lot of sense. The times call for statutory warning: It is injurious to environment.”
Proposing a vote of thanks, Ajay Chaturvedi, CEO & Co-Founder, Real Estate Study Circle said, “The healthy lifestyle should be value-for-money and it should lead to long-term sustainability.”
