In 2021-22, home two-wheeler gross sales stood at 1,34,66,412 models, whereas three-wheeler gross sales had been at 2,60,995 models and total car gross sales throughout classes had been at 1,75,13,596 models, based on the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM). As per the Federation of Automotive Dealers Associations (FADA), electrical two-wheeler retail gross sales final fiscal stood at 2,31,338 models, up over five-fold from 41,046 models in 2020-21.

Total Electric Vehicle (EV) retails reached 4,29,217 models in 2021-22, an increase of three-fold from 1,34,821 models within the monetary 12 months 2020-21, the sellers physique had stated. Kant stated the transition to electrical mobility is gaining floor as the fee of batteries, which accounts for about 40 to 45 p.c of electrical car prices, is falling quickly. “It has seen a decline of over 100 percent in the last five to six years.
