“Branding is a process and not just an event” observed Mr. Sridhar Ramanujam, Founder – brand-comm at the WiseViews Interactive Webinar Series conducted on June 11, 2021 by ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education (IFHE). IFHE has initiated this unique concept of inviting well-known personalities from the Industry to share their success stories with the prospective students of the Online MBA Program which was launched recently. This was the 8th webinar of this series.
Explaining his observations on branding Mr. Sridhar Ramanujam said that “Branding has many touch points and all of them should convey the same message which should strike a strong connect with the consumer in order to create a resonance”.
Sharing his vast experience of over 30 years in the branding, he cited few interesting examples to make a brand familiar with the consumers. The introduction of “Sabse Saste Din” campaign on National holidays such as January 26th and August 15th for Big Bazaar is one of them. Applying the EMI scheme for Levis Jeans brand is another unique concept which was a big hit with the consumers.
Mr. Ramanujam further said, “There are many parameters which determines the success of a brand. Selecting unconventional names, design of logo, shape of the container, packaging, advertising etc., help to establish a strong brand that will attract the consumers to become loyal to a particular brand”.

IIM Bangalore has recently awarded Sridhar as a distinguished alumnus of the institute. He was honoured by the Madras Advertising Club. He has been awarded the Life Time Achievement Award for Communicators from Public Relations Council of India (PRCI) in 2017.
He has authored three books – “One land one billion minds’, a best seller in India and its sequel “Googly Branding on Indian turf’. He launched his third book in Tamil ‘En Vazhi Thani Vazhi’andis now writing a text book on Advertising and Brand Management.
