Hyderabad, October 7, 2026: The 6th Annual BioAgri Industry Summit, BIOAGRI 2026, began today at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad, drawing over 400 registered delegates from across India to discuss sustainable biological agriculture. The event was inaugurated by Dr. J.P. Singh, former Plant Protection Advisor to the Government of India, who also delivered the keynote address.

The summit, organised by the BioAgri Input Producers Association (BIPA), runs from October 7 to 8 under the theme “Biological Intelligence & Smart Agriculture.” It brings together industry leaders, scientists, researchers, startups, innovators, policymakers, regulators, and other stakeholders to focus on the intersection of biological sciences, technology, and agriculture.

Industry participation and exhibition

More than 60 exhibitors are taking part, with around 35 exhibition stalls showcasing products, technologies, and solutions from manufacturers of biopesticides, biofertilizers, biostimulants, pheromones, digital technology platforms, equipment suppliers, and technology companies. Delegates and exhibitors represent over 20 states, and the summit has facilitated more than 100 partnerships and collaborations.

Technical sessions and panel discussions

The first day featured technical sessions on investment and business opportunities in agri-biologicals, climate-action finance, carbon credits, the evolving biological market, and the use of microbes for extracting precious metals. A CEO panel addressed commercial scaling, quality assurance, microbial stability, regulatory pathways, R&D partnerships, policy incentives, and export market readiness. A dedicated session on soil health examined the transition from soil fertility to “soil intelligence,” mycorrhizal applications, biomass, biochar, and the shift towards biological solutions.

Focus on technology and innovation

Afternoon sessions explored technology opportunities for the bio-agriculture industry, with discussions involving startups, academia, industry, and researchers on emerging technologies, phytosanitary research, market outreach, and scientific contributions. The day concluded with an award ceremony recognising achievements across industry, academia, and the startup ecosystem.

BIPA Startup Challenge and future outlook

A highlight of BIOAGRI 2026 is the BIPA Startup Challenge 2026, a competition for early-stage companies developing innovative solutions in biological agriculture. Selected startups are pitching their solutions to a panel of industry leaders, investors, and researchers, aiming for visibility and potential industry connections.

Dr. J.P. Singh said in his keynote that biological agriculture is becoming a key pillar of sustainable farming in India, and platforms like BIOAGRI are vital for accelerating the adoption of biological solutions. “We must move towards an agriculture system that is productive, environmentally responsible and resilient for the generations ahead,” he said.

BIPA, one of India’s oldest registered associations for biological agriculture, represents over 100 industry members and works to promote innovation, regulatory excellence, and the adoption of sustainable biological solutions. The summit aims to strengthen the national ecosystem for biological agriculture through knowledge sharing, collaboration, research, and engagement with policymakers.
