Hyderabad, October 7, 2026: The 6th Annual BioAgri Industry Summit, BIOAGRI 2026, began at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad, drawing over 400 registered delegates from across India to discuss sustainable biological agriculture. The event was inaugurated by Dr. J.P. Singh, former Plant Protection Advisor to the Government of India, who also delivered the keynote address.

The two-day summit, organised by the BioAgri Input Producers Association (BIPA), is being held on October 7 and 8 under the theme “Biological Intelligence & Smart Agriculture,” focusing on the intersection of biological sciences, technology, and agriculture.

Industry leaders and startups participate

Participants include manufacturers of biopesticides, biofertilizers, biostimulants, pheromones, digital technology platforms, equipment suppliers, and technology companies. The event features an exhibition with more than 60 exhibitors across approximately 35 stalls, providing a platform for companies to showcase products and solutions.

The summit is also hosting over 100 partnerships and collaborations, with attendees from more than 20 states, reflecting the expanding ecosystem around sustainable agriculture. BIPA, which represents over 100 industry members, is facilitating knowledge sharing, industry collaboration, and engagement with policymakers and regulators.

Technical sessions and CEO panel

The first day included technical sessions on investment and business opportunities in agri-biologicals, climate-action finance, carbon credits, the evolving biological market, and the use of microbes for extracting precious metals. A CEO panel addressed topics such as commercial scaling, quality assurance, microbial stability, regulatory pathways, R&D partnerships, policy incentives, and readiness for global export markets.

A session on soil health explored the transition from soil fertility to “soil intelligence,” covering soil nutrition, mycorrhizal applications, biomass, biochar, and carbon credits, as well as the shift from conventional to biological agricultural inputs.

Focus on technology and innovation

The afternoon programme highlighted technology opportunities for the bioagriculture industry, bringing together startups, academia, industry, and researchers to discuss emerging technologies, market outreach, and scientific contributions. The summit aims to strengthen connections between established industry players and the startup ecosystem, with innovation and research playing a key role in shaping the sector’s future.

Award ceremonies recognised achievements in industry, academia, and the startup ecosystem, providing networking opportunities and celebrating innovation in biological agriculture.

BIPA Startup Challenge 2026 launched

A new feature of this year’s summit is the BIPA Startup Challenge 2026, a competition for early-stage companies developing innovative solutions in biological agriculture. Selected startups are pitching their solutions before a panel of industry leaders, investors, and researchers, aiming for visibility, recognition, and potential industry connections.

Dr. J.P. Singh, former Plant Protection Advisor, Government of India, said in his keynote address, “Biological agriculture is no longer a niche segment; it is emerging as an important pillar of sustainable agriculture. The future of Indian farming will depend on how effectively we integrate biological solutions, scientific research and smart technologies with the needs of farmers.”

Building on previous editions held between 2021 and 2025, BIOAGRI 2026 seeks to further strengthen the national ecosystem for biological agriculture through collaboration, research, and innovation.
