National, October 26, 2026: Swiggy Ltd has renewed its comprehensive insurance programme for delivery partners in partnership with IndusInd General Insurance Company Ltd, covering more than 25 lakh delivery partners in FY26, the company announced on Thursday.
The renewed policy provides accidental death cover of ₹10 lakh, in-patient hospitalization cover up to ₹2 lakh, and family health coverage up to ₹1 lakh. The programme also includes maternity benefits, coverage for pre-existing diseases from Day 1, and 24×7 teleconsultations for delivery partners and their families.
Expanded health and wellness benefits
Under the insurance arrangement, all active delivery partners are eligible for accident protection, including a fixed payout in case of accidental death or disability. The policy also offers child education support in the event of accidental death or permanent total disability. Health and hospitalization benefits include cashless and reimbursement facilities for hospitalization, day care procedures, outpatient treatment, and maternity benefits.
The coverage extends to both network and non-network healthcare institutions for day care procedures up to the full sum insured, emergency road ambulance services up to ₹10,000, OPD treatment up to ₹10,000 with no sub-limits, as well as pre- and post-hospitalization expenses, loss-of-pay support, and mobile cover. Delivery partners can access and claim insurance benefits through the Swiggy Delivery Partner App.
Maternity and family coverage details
Maternity benefits are available for all women delivery partners and the spouses of male delivery partners where family cover applies. During the previous policy period, 75% of maternity claims were availed by spouses of delivery partners, while 25% were utilized by Swiggy’s women delivery partners.
All delivery partners and their families will have 24×7 access to free teleconsultations with general physicians and super-specialists, as well as wellness benefits such as preferential rates on medicines and diagnostic tests, access to wellness sessions, and AI-driven wellness management solutions.
Additional health initiatives and future plans
In the last financial year, Swiggy organized health check-up camps for delivery partners in multiple cities. The company plans to expand these health and wellness interventions to more cities in the current financial year, aiming to strengthen access to preventive healthcare and financial protection for delivery partners nationwide.
Saurav Goyal, Chief Operating Officer, Food Marketplace, Swiggy, said the insurance programme has become one of the most comprehensive protection initiatives in India’s gig economy, with millions of partners covered last year. “By renewing our program with enhanced benefits for our delivery partners, we are continuing to provide our delivery partners with access to financial and healthcare protection when they need it most. We are pleased to continue our partnership with IndusInd General Insurance while further strengthening the support available to our delivery partners and their families,” Goyal said.
IndusInd General Insurance Company Ltd, formerly known as Reliance General Insurance Company Ltd, is Swiggy’s insurance partner for this programme.
