Mumbai, 1 July 2026 – Škoda Auto India reported sales of 38,894 units for the first half of 2026, a 7.5% increase over the same period last year and the company’s best half-yearly performance to date. The company said this builds on a record first quarter, in which it sold 20,028 units, up 17% year-on-year. Škoda had previously set its highest half-yearly sales figure in its 25-year India history in H1 2025; the company said H1 2026 surpasses that mark.
Ashish Gupta, Brand Director, Škoda Auto India, said the company’s growth this year has been driven by “a focused product offensive, customer-first initiatives, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.” He pointed to demand for the new Kushaq, the updated Kodiaq, and the newly launched Kodiaq RS — whose first batch, he said, sold out in six minutes — alongside continuing sales of the Kylaq and the Slavia. “We remain focused on delivering differentiated products, transparent communication, and a delightful ownership experience to support sustainable long-term growth in India,” he said.
Product Line-up
The company said sales during H1 2026 were spread across its four India models. The Kylaq, Škoda’s sub-4m SUV, has sold over 50,000 units cumulatively since launch, according to the company. The new Kushaq, launched this year, adds an eight-speed automatic transmission option and a rear-seat massager among its features. The Slavia continues as the brand’s sedan offering, and the Kodiaq as its full-size SUV.
Separately, the Kodiaq RS — a performance version of the Kodiaq — had its first import batch of 50 units fully booked within six minutes of bookings opening on 22 June, before Škoda had announced pricing for the model, which is expected to be priced around ₹60 lakh (ex-showroom). It is the second Škoda RS model to sell out within minutes in India after the Octavia RS, whose bookings closed within 20 minutes in 2025. The Kodiaq RS is powered by a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 265 PS and 400 Nm, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive; Škoda says it accelerates from 0-100 kmph in 6.3 seconds, which the company describes as the fastest of any Škoda sold in India. The launch coincides with what the company describes as 125 years of Škoda’s motorsport history and the 51st year of the RS badge globally.
Network Expansion
Škoda said its dealership and service network has expanded to more than 340 touchpoints across India. The company also recently launched Škoda Express Care, a service format aimed at faster turnaround times.
Motorsport Record
Škoda Auto India said its fleet — comprising the Slavia Monte Carlo, Kushaq Monte Carlo, Kylaq, Kodiaq, and the limited-run Octavia RS — set an India and Asia Book of Records entry for the fastest multi-car relay by a single manufacturer on a circuit. The five cars completed the relay, including driver change-over time, in a combined 12 minutes 30.97 seconds at the CoASTT track in Coimbatore. The company has tied the record attempt to a new marketing campaign, “Greatest On A Track is a Škoda On A Track.”
