Mumbai, July 22: Škoda Auto India has introduced two limited-edition dual-tone colour options for the Slavia Monte Carlo sedan, expanding the variant lineup without making any changes to the powertrain or feature set.
The new Shimla Green and Steel Grey colour schemes will be available on only 200 units of the Slavia Monte Carlo. Buyers can choose either the 1.0-litre TSI automatic or the 1.5-litre TSI DSG variant.
The move comes as automakers increasingly rely on cosmetic updates and limited-run editions to sustain customer interest between major product refreshes while keeping development costs in check.
The Slavia Monte Carlo remains positioned as the sportier version of Škoda’s mid-size sedan. It continues with black exterior accents, Monte Carlo-specific styling elements, a black-and-red cabin theme and the existing equipment package.
Mechanically, the sedan is unchanged.
The entry-level 1.0-litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine develops 115 PS and 178 Nm of torque and is paired with a six-speed torque-converter automatic transmission. The higher-spec 1.5-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine produces 150 PS and 250 Nm and is offered with a seven-speed dual-clutch (DSG) automatic gearbox.
The larger engine continues to feature Active Cylinder Technology (ACT), which deactivates two cylinders during low-load driving conditions to improve fuel efficiency. It also uses plasma-coated cylinder liners for improved thermal management.
Ashish Gupta, Brand Director, Škoda Auto India, said the additional colour options are intended to offer greater choice for customers opting for the Monte Carlo variant.
The Monte Carlo badge has been part of Škoda’s global portfolio for decades and references the company’s association with the Rallye Monte Carlo motorsport event.
The announcement comes as the Czech carmaker continues to strengthen its premium offerings in India, where it sells the Slavia sedan alongside the Kushaq, Kylaq and Kodiaq SUVs. The company has also reintroduced the performance-oriented Octavia RS in limited numbers.
Earlier this year, Škoda said its India model range set an India and Asia Book of Records title for the fastest multi-car relay by a single manufacturer at the CoASTT racing circuit in Coimbatore, completing the event in a combined time of 12 minutes and 30.97 seconds, including driver changes.
While the latest update does not introduce any mechanical enhancements, the limited availability of the new colour editions is expected to target buyers seeking greater exclusivity in the mid-size sedan segment.
