Over 10,000 women join 4th Pinkathon Day across 65 cities

Hyderabad, October 27, 2026: The fourth edition of Pinkathon Day saw participation from more than 10,000 women across 168 locations in 65 cities spanning India, Bangladesh, and the Netherlands, with Hyderabad hosting a 3 km run that began at 6:00 AM. Organised by Pinkathon, which describes itself as India’s largest women’s running movement, the event aimed to promote physical fitness and well-being among women, with Mutual Funds Sahi Hai serving as the Title Partner.

The initiative encouraged women of all ages and fitness levels to adopt an active lifestyle, and also highlighted the importance of family involvement in fitness. Notably, a 96-year-old woman participated in the Hyderabad run alongside her family, underscoring the event’s intergenerational appeal.

Participation across three countries

Pinkathon Day events were held simultaneously in cities across India, Bangladesh, and the Netherlands, as part of an ongoing effort to build local running communities and foster a culture of fitness among women. The event was supported by Pinkathon’s network of ambassadors, volunteers, and running groups, who helped mobilise participants at the grassroots level.

Focus on fitness and financial awareness

Mutual Funds Sahi Hai, as Title Partner, extended the event’s focus to include financial awareness and planning for women. Venkat N. Chalasani, Chief Executive of the Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI), said the partnership aimed to encourage women to take an active role in managing their finances and building long-term financial security. “Just as regular physical activity contributes to long-term health, informed financial decisions and disciplined investing can help build financial resilience and enable women to pursue their long-term goals with confidence,” Chalasani said.

Community support and ongoing impact

Milind Soman, Founder of Pinkathon, credited the success of the event to the efforts of ambassadors, volunteers, and running groups who motivated women to participate. “The participation across cities reflects the efforts of our ambassadors, volunteers and running groups who encourage women to take that first step towards fitness. What matters now is for participants to carry this momentum into their everyday lives and find ways to stay active beyond the event,” Soman said.

Pinkathon is an initiative by the United Sisters Foundation and is promoted by Maximus MICE & Media Solutions Pvt. Ltd. The movement also raises awareness about breast cancer and other women’s health issues. AMFI, incorporated in 1995 as a non-profit, represents all SEBI-registered asset management companies and works to promote standards in the Indian mutual fund industry.
