Kaspersky and KidZania India host family cyber safety day in Delhi NCR

Delhi NCR, October 7, 2026: Kaspersky, in partnership with KidZania India, organised a Media Family Day at the Kaspersky Cyber Investigation Centre in KidZania Delhi NCR, bringing together parents and children for hands-on cybersecurity activities. The event aimed to highlight shifts in Indian children’s online behaviour and emphasised the importance of practical cyber safety awareness.

According to Kaspersky’s latest data from Q1 2026, communication and media platforms now account for the largest share of children’s online activity in India. On Windows devices, the Internet, Communication & Media category represented 43.44% of usage, followed by Software, Audio, Video at 34.99%. Android devices showed similar trends, with 39.86% and 34.89% respectively. Notably, exposure to adult content on Android devices reached 5.71%—nearly three times higher than the 1.91% observed on Windows. Content related to alcohol, tobacco, and narcotics remained low but consistent, at 0.26% on Android and 0.29% on Windows.

AI chatbot usage among children

Kaspersky Safe Kids data from the past six months placed ChatGPT seventh among the top 20 apps used by children in India, with a 2.41% share. It ranked ahead of Zoom, Roblox, and Telegram, and behind YouTube (30.68%), WhatsApp (29.14%), and Instagram (10.24%). ChatGPT was the only AI chatbot in the Top 10, reflecting a broader global trend of rising AI-related app usage among children.

Jaydeep Singh, General Manager for India at Kaspersky, said children in India are increasingly using AI chatbots for homework, quick answers, and conversation, primarily on smartphones where supervision is often limited. He noted that this shift requires a new approach to cyber awareness, including teaching children to question chatbot responses and recognise manipulative messaging.

Hands-on learning at the Cyber Investigation Centre

The event began with a welcome address by Jaydeep Singh and an overview of the Kaspersky–KidZania partnership. Families participated in a guided experience at the Cyber Investigation Centre, followed by an interaction and Q&A session with the Kaspersky team. Children aged six and above acted as cyber investigators at workstations equipped with Kaspersky security software, tackling simulated cases of phishing, identity theft, and cyberbullying. Each 20-minute session accommodated up to six children, who received a personalised Cyber Investigator card upon completion. The Centre operates at both KidZania India locations in Mumbai and Delhi NCR.

Tarandeep Singh Sekhon, Chief Business Officer of KidZania India, said the partnership allows children to learn about digital safety through immersive, real-world experiences, helping them understand and remember essential online safety skills.

Parental guidance and special offers

Kaspersky recommended that parents maintain open conversations with children about online activity, apply content filters and parental controls to smartphones, educate children about the limitations of AI, teach them to identify phishing attempts, and regularly review privacy settings as children’s app usage evolves. The company also offers a special package in partnership with KidZania, including a 30-day free trial, up to 40% off on Premium protection, and a complimentary one-year Safe Kids subscription worth INR 1,439.

Kaspersky is a global cybersecurity and digital privacy company, while KidZania India operates educational entertainment centres in Mumbai and Delhi NCR.
