Four UK universities to hold first joint placement week at India campuses

PAN India, November 3, 2026: The India campuses of the University of Bristol, University of York, University of Liverpool and University of Aberdeen will jointly host their first UK Universities Placement Week by the end of November 2026, offering employers early access to over 250 postgraduate students from their founding cohorts ahead of 2027 graduation.

The initiative, convened by global education company Emeritus, allows employers to interview and recruit students across disciplines including Finance, Technology, AI, Management and Creative Industries. The participating cohorts include both fresh graduates and professionals with prior work experience averaging between 2.4 and 3 years.

Employers to access diverse talent

Students come from the University of Bristol Mumbai Enterprise Campus, University of York Mumbai, University of Liverpool Bengaluru and University of Aberdeen Mumbai. Their professional backgrounds span banking and financial services, IT and technology, consulting, finance, audit and accounting, sales, marketing, product and business analytics, and media and design. Academic backgrounds include engineering, computer science, business and management, commerce, finance, and science.

Each campus operates under University Grants Commission regulations for foreign higher education institutions, as per India’s National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, and aligns with the India-UK Vision 2035. The programme may expand to include employers from select global markets in future phases.

Applied learning and industry alignment

Students gain applied experience through live projects and industry tools. Finance students are trained in AI and automation for financial analysis, audit, risk and data analysis, while management students apply AI to business analysis and operations. At the University of Bristol Mumbai Enterprise Campus, the MA Immersive Arts programme focuses on immersive design and creative technology.

Curricula at each campus are designed by the respective UK home universities, maintaining identical academic assessment standards and qualifications. The campuses are located near corporates and multinationals to facilitate real-world learning through live projects and practical assignments.

Placement process and employer engagement

Employers interested in participating must submit their interest by mid-November. A centralised placement committee will review requests and conduct screening sessions to match organisational talent needs. Universities will then screen student profiles for relevant roles, after which shortlisted employers will interview students across the four campuses, either online or offline, and may extend offer letters before graduation.

Leadership perspectives on the initiative

Professor Michelle Jones, Director and Executive Dean of the University of Bristol Mumbai Enterprise Campus, said the Placement Week offers employers access to postgraduate students with disciplinary expertise and practical experience across technology, finance, management and creative industries.

Ganesh S, CHRO of Emeritus, said, “India’s talent pipeline is changing. Access to the right talent now depends on how early organisations engage with emerging talent. The UK Universities Placement Week opens a second hiring window in the year, helping businesses plan talent needs sooner and strengthening the skilled talent pipeline.”
