After reaching a complete of 85 million steps in 60 days, Fiji’s main life and well being insurance provider – BSP Life – gave a complete of $20,000 to WOWS Kids Fiji yesterday.
BSP Life managing director Michael Nacola mentioned they’d pledged to stroll a complete of fifty million steps however had achieved extra.
“Our relationship with WOWS goes back a number of years now,” Mr Nacola mentioned.
“So clearly they want help from company firms to fulfil the great work that they do, it’s not straightforward with limitless funds so from our perspective we all know that it is a very worthy trigger to help.
“We’re in the life insurance business and it’s all about protecting our people’s value the most which is our loved ones – so there was a natural synergy there.”
Mr Nacola mentioned the group loved the journey.
“We noticed that through the course of the program everyone was getting fitter, healthier and watching what they eat during morning tea and pushing each other for their steps – we had a good outcome with just wellness for our people and more importantly fundraising for a worthy cause.”
He thanked Suva City Council for offering the free venue at Albert Park, Sofitel Fiji Resort and Spa for contributing a price of over thousand {dollars} in prizes, Future Farms – Rooster and Oceania Hospitals Pte Ltd.
“BSP Life thanks sponsors like The Fiji Times for promoting and creating consciousness on the indicators and signs of childhood cancer.
“We are looking to go bigger every year and we hope that other corporate businesses help out with a worthy cause as such in any way that they can.”
WOWS Kids Fiji trustee Anabelle Ali mentioned the donation meant lots to the organisation.
“Most people may not realise but it is through donations as such that we are able to care for and provide for the 74 families that WOWS Kids Fiji is looking after. This helps with transportation and treatment, and we are just so blessed to be a part of the BSP Life family.”.
