Hyderabad, August 3, 2026: The Telangana State Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (TGSPDCL) has directed immediate resolution of operational issues affecting the solar sector, following a statewide virtual consultation facilitated by the Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FTCCI).
The meeting, held on August 3, brought together 95 participants including TGSPDCL Chairman and Managing Director Jitesh V. Patil, IAS, senior utility officials, district-level Superintending Engineers, and representatives from the Telangana Solar Open Access Developers Association, Telangana Solar Energy Association (TSEA), solar EPC companies, PM-KUSUM farmers, and FTCCI members.
Immediate directives for field officers
During the session, Jitesh V. Patil instructed district-level officials to resolve several operational issues raised by solar developers and farmers without delay. The directives were issued during the meeting itself, with implementation to begin the same day, according to TGSPDCL.
For matters requiring regulatory or policy changes, Patil advised FTCCI to submit a consolidated representation to the Chief Engineer (IPC) to enable focused examination and structured resolution.
Focus on project execution and grid integration
The consultation addressed challenges related to rooftop solar, open-access projects, agricultural solarisation, and grid connectivity. Patil noted that direct engagement with developers and farmers enables utilities to better understand ground realities, improve approval mechanisms, streamline grid integration, and enhance service delivery.
