STOCKHOLM, Oct. 6, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Skanska has signed a contract with the Metropolitan Transport Authority to replace escalators in subway stations in New York, New York, USA. The contract is value USD 113M, about SEK 1.1 billion, which shall be included in the US order bookings for the third quarter 2022. 

Skanska will replace a complete of 17 escalators in six subway stations all through the town, together with Lexington Ave/59th Street station, South Ferry/Whitehall Street station, 145th Street station, fifth Ave/53rd Street Station, Smith-Ninth Street Station, and 59th Street Station. The mission additionally consists of related restore work and upgrades to these stations.

Construction started August 2022 and anticipated completion is August 2026.
