Pune, August 07, 2026: Schaeffler India Limited has announced the appointment of Amit Bhalerao as Chief Operating Officer (COO), effective August 10, 2026. Bhalerao will oversee the company’s manufacturing operations across India, focusing on operational excellence, manufacturing strategy, digital transformation, and capability development.
As part of the Executive Leadership Team, Bhalerao will collaborate with business and functional leaders to shape Schaeffler India’s manufacturing footprint, enhance operational performance, accelerate localisation initiatives, and build future-ready manufacturing capabilities at its plants.
Leadership experience and previous roles
Bhalerao brings over 23 years of global experience in manufacturing, operations, business excellence, lean transformation, quality, and supply chain management. Before joining Schaeffler India, he was Managing Director and Vice President of Operations at Kelvion India, where he led operations, business performance, manufacturing excellence, technology transfer, and capacity expansion initiatives.
His earlier positions include leadership roles at Cummins, Eaton, and Sterlite Technologies, focusing on lean manufacturing, operational excellence, continuous improvement, and strategic transformation.
