Hyderabad, October 15, 2026: The Rotary Club of One Hyderabad (RC1H) will be formally launched at its Charter Presentation ceremony on October 16, 2026, in Hyderabad, becoming the world’s second 100% Paul Harris Society (PHS) Rotary Club on its charter day, following the Rotary Club of Lake District.
The new club’s distinction as a 100% Paul Harris Society Club means every eligible member has committed to contributing at least US$1,000 annually to The Rotary Foundation, reflecting a collective focus on humanitarian service in areas such as health, education, disease prevention, clean water, sanitation, and peacebuilding.
Focus on WASH initiatives
For its first two years, RC1H will prioritise Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) as its principal area of service, aiming to improve public health and community well-being through access to safe sanitation, clean water, and hygiene practices. The club’s approach recognises sanitation as a critical public health intervention capable of preventing disease and protecting lives.
Panel discussion on sanitation
Following the charter presentation, a panel discussion titled “Sanitation: A Super Vaccine” will bring together senior government officials, development-sector representatives, and industry leaders to discuss the role of sanitation in disease prevention, public health, and sustainable urban development.
The discussion will be moderated by Prof. V. Srinivas Chary, former Director of the Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI) and Advisor to T-Works, Dasra, and the Gates Foundation, along with Abhishek Nath, Founder of LooCafe and Reflow.
