It has been determined, in session with the Government of India, that the restrict for Ways and Means Advances (WMA) for the second half of the monetary yr 2022-23 (October 2022 to March 2023) will probably be ₹50,000 crore.

The Reserve Bank might set off recent floatation of market loans when the Government of India utilises 75 per cent of the WMA restrict.

The Reserve Bank retains the pliability to revise the restrict at any time, in session with the Government of India, taking into account the prevailing circumstances.

The rate of interest on WMA/Overdraft will probably be:

  1. WMA: Repo Rate

  2. Overdraft: Two p.c above the Repo Rate
