Pa. Court Settles Insurance Policy Interpretation Dispute

In a matter of first impression, the Pennsylvania Superior Court looked to interpret insurance policy language regarding reproduction or replacement of electronic data, namely what the phrase “resides in your computers” meant in regard to destroyed or corrupted electronic data.

The court vacated an $88,750 judgment in favor of Watchword Worldwide and against Erie Insurance Exchange, despite concluding that the policy phrase at the center of the suit was ambiguous.
