Oritain report finds 77% of suppliers seek origin verification collaboration

Singapore, October 14, 2026: Oritain has released its Supplier Intelligence Report, revealing that 77% of surveyed suppliers are interested in collaborating on origin verification initiatives, with nearly 80% already operating traceability systems across key global manufacturing hubs.

The report, which draws on insights from 122 senior decision-makers in 10 markets including China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, South Korea, Türkiye, Vietnam, Singapore, Bangladesh and Pakistan, highlights a shift in supplier attitudes towards transparency and verification amid increasing regulatory scrutiny and consumer expectations.

High adoption of traceability systems

According to the findings, almost 80% of suppliers have implemented traceability solutions, while 75% remain open to adopting new traceability technologies. More than 85% of respondents described supply chain transparency as important or very important to their business, indicating that transparency has become a core commercial consideration.

Consumer demand and leadership engagement

Consumer and customer expectations are driving these changes, with 81% of suppliers identifying consumer demand as a key driver for transparency efforts. Additionally, 73% of suppliers reported executive leadership involvement in traceability and transparency decisions, suggesting these issues are now strategic priorities for many organisations.

Collaboration and verification as competitive advantages

The report suggests that collaboration is emerging as a competitive advantage, with suppliers seeking credible ways to validate sourcing claims and differentiate themselves in the market. Oritain’s Chief Customer Officer, Gemma Lynch, said suppliers are actively looking to participate in trusted supply chain ecosystems, and the challenge now is substantiating claims with credible evidence.

The Supplier Intelligence Report builds on Oritain’s 2026 Global Supply Chain Intelligence Report, which examined sourcing risk, enforcement trends and consumer trust. The latest findings indicate the industry is moving towards connected networks built on trust, transparency and independent verification.

Oritain’s Membership program enhancements

The release of the report follows recent enhancements to Oritain’s Membership program, which aims to strengthen collaboration between brands, suppliers and manufacturers through forensic origin verification and supply chain intelligence.

Oritain is a global forensic origin verification provider, working across industries including fashion, cotton, leather and timber, and has received recognition such as the Global Environment award at the Greater Good Awards and Judges’ Choice for Environmental Impact at the Environment + Energy Leader Awards.
