OGH acknowledges the contributions of 100 three-seater iron benches 

Osmania General Hospital (OGH), acknowledged the contributions of its alumni, NGOs and its partners in bringing about significant changes in the hospital services and facilities for the betterment of patients and their attenders in the last one year on the eve of the republic day celebrations organised at the hospital.

Speaking on the side-lines of the Republic day function Dr. B. Nagender, Superintendent, OGH said, several projects have been undertaken and successfully completed at OGH recently, a few important ones were, the laying of a new road from OP to IP block and beyond and new Acute Neuro Surgery Care(ANSC) unit being commissioned, the upgradation of 24-hour path lab, a new Single donor platelet machine for the blood bank etc.

He added that the old building is being fully vacated and additional space is being created above the QQDC block with 300 beds all within the hospital premises and as per plans old building renovation is a target for completion by Apr 2021.

Highlighting the department-wise achievements and appreciating the efforts of doctors and nurses, the superintendent said that just last year 9.58 lac patients availed outpatient care services and over 51000 admissions were done over 75000 surgeries were performed at the hospital.

He, further added in this journey the role of partner NGOs like Tata Trust, Seva Bharti, Rogi Sahyata and Safa Baitul Maal has been very significant, he particularly called out and appreciated the efforts of Helping Hand Foundation which contributed Rs 60 lacs in the last year to improve services and facilities in collaboration with other CSR groups which it motivated for the betterment of the hospital.

Helping Hand Foundation is collaborating with OGH to voluntary provide 50 patient coordinators and helpers, 2 lift man, 2 sweepers, 2 Supervisors along with 3 ambulances in 2 shifts at OGH for patient care services he added.

On the occasion of the Republic Day, Al Khair Foundation donated 100, three-seater iron benches & 50 earlier last year, thus taking the total seating capacity of benches donated to 250 benches from contributions from other NGOs, this will help at least 750 patient & their attenders to sit comfortably at the hospital when they come for treatment.

The benches were handed over in a brief function in the Old Building in the presence of Dr. B. Nagender, Superintendent, Osmania, Dr. Jafer Qureshi, Mr. Feroz Baig, from Al Khair Foundation in presence of HODs, RMOs & Staff from Helping Hand Foundation.
