Solve Innovation Future broadcasts funding in three new Solver groups
CAMBRIDGE, Mass., Sept. 18, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Solve, an initiative of the Massachusetts Institute for Technology with a mission to drive innovation to unravel world challenges, revealed the brand new Solver groups and Indigenous Communities Fellows chosen for its 2022 Global Challenges. The new 2022 Solver and Indigenous Communities Fellow Class was chosen by Solve’s skilled judges from a pool of over 1,100 candidates from 117 nations and 46 Native Tribes. In this new class, 70% of Solver groups are women-led, 20 nations and eight American Indian Tribes are represented, and 48% are for revenue/hybrid organizations.

Included in this 2022 Solver Class are the primary groups to affix the inaugural Black & Brown Innovators in the US Program, launched this 12 months as half of Solve’s ongoing racial fairness work.

Additionally, Solver groups and Indigenous Communities Fellows are eligible for funding from Solve Innovation Future, Solve’s first-of-its-kind philanthropic enterprise fund. Solve Innovation Future invests debt and fairness in for-profit and hybrid Solver groups. Solve Innovation Future is an evergreen fund, held as a donor-advised fund with ImpactProperty, with Solve serving because the donor advisor. Any returns are reinvested in future Solver groups, which means donor presents are multiplied over time. Solve Innovation Future has invested in 13 Solver groups since launch, and for each greenback invested, the crew has catalyzed a further 5 {dollars} of funding to Solver groups.
