Marsh and Bloomberg New Economy launch Competitive Resilience Coalition at New Delhi forum

New Delhi, October 14, 2026: Marsh and Bloomberg New Economy have launched the Competitive Resilience Coalition, an initiative aimed at helping businesses and economies manage interconnected risks and drive sustainable growth, the organisations announced at the Bloomberg New Economy Forum 2026 in New Delhi.

The coalition brings together public and private sector leaders to address challenges arising from geopolitical, economic, technological, and environmental shifts. It will offer practical guidance and frameworks to help leaders navigate these disruptions and translate them into resilience and competitive advantage.

Founding members and leadership

Founding members of the coalition include John Doyle, President and CEO of Marsh; Karen Saltser, CEO of Bloomberg Media; Eric Andersen, President and CEO of AIG; Merit Janow, Chair of the Board of Directors at Mastercard; Dr. Taha Kass-Hout, Global Chief Science and Technology Officer at GE HealthCare; T.H. Janet Napolitano, Professor of Public Policy at UC Berkeley and former U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security; Ronald P. OʼHanley, Chairman and CEO of State Street; Admiral Sir Tony Radakin, former Chief of the Defence Staff of the British Armed Forces; T.H. Gina Raimondo, Co-Chair and CEO of RAISE US and former U.S. Secretary of Commerce; and Christian Ulbrich, President and CEO of JLL.

The coalition will focus on five critical decision domains for building resilience: geopolitics and geoeconomics, the natural environment, digital and AI, operations, and people and trust.

Research and sector priorities

According to research cited by Marsh, CEOs view competitive disruption as the top opportunity and macroeconomic conditions as the top threat, with 96% reporting increased board involvement amid uncertainty. The coalition aims to help leaders identify key risk exposures and provide models for decision-making that support sustained resilience.

John Doyle, President and CEO of Marsh and Coalition Co-Chair, said the initiative will help leaders “see the full picture, make bold bets, and turn resilience into agility, growth, and ultimately opportunity.” Karen Saltser, CEO of Bloomberg Media and Coalition Co-Chair, added that the coalition “brings together leaders with different perspectives to cut through the noise, challenge assumptions and better understand the forces shaping what comes next.”

Forum discussions and next steps

The coalition was unveiled at the Bloomberg New Economy Forum 2026 in New Delhi, where John Romeo, Managing Partner and CEO of Marsh’s Oliver Wyman Forum, led a discussion on protecting enterprise value and strengthening long-term competitiveness. Findings from the forum will be shared with the coalition to inform its ongoing agenda.

Marsh (NYSE: MRSH) is a global professional services firm in risk, reinsurance, capital, people, investments, and management consulting, operating in 130 countries. Bloomberg New Economy convenes leaders from business, government, and civil society to address global economic challenges.
