Jordanian Medical Association (JMA) clarified its decision to halt the acceptance of insurance cases from Sept. 2 onwards.

Dr. Hazem Al-Qarala, head of the Medical Syndicate’s media committee, highlighted that the current wage regulations from 2008 are outdated and incompatible with the current wage system.

Despite the Council of the Jordanian Medical Association approving the doctors’ wage regulations for 2021, insurance companies persist in following the 2008 regulations, leading to the decision to stop receiving insurance cases.

The JMA emphasized that the decision excludes emergency, cancer, and kidney failure cases, with services continuing based on 2021 pricing.

Qarala reaffirmed that while the decision will not affect emergency cases, it seeks to ensure beneficiaries’ rights by aligning fees with new regulations through proper documentation and financial receipts.
