Forbes farmer Tom Green has discussed reports of insurers abandoning flood-hit towns, with some residents receiving letters saying their policies will not be renewed.
“I think currently the insurance situation – it’s a bit of an unknown,” Mr Green told Sky News Australia.
“There’s talk of insurers sending letters out, I don’t think we have had mail service in two or three weeks, so we will just have to wait and see on that.
“I guess the overall picture is we know we can’t get flood insurance, so it’s a bit of an unknown why this sort of happens – we can’t claim anything, whether its crops, stock or infrastructure damage anyway.”
