New Delhi: The Mission Olympic Cell of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports in their 126th meeting has allowed weightlifter Mirabai Chanu to receive training at LA FERTE-MILON, to prepare for the multi-sport event.

Mira, who had won a silver medal in the Tokyo Olympics, will be going to Paris almost a month before her Olympic event to adjust to the weather conditions and prepare well for the multi-sport tournament.

In her training camp, her two coaches would be accompanying Mirabai along with a physiotherapist and their air tickets, visa costs, accommodation charges, food, training costs, local transport costs, medical insurance, and sauna charges among other expenditures will come under the TOPS funding.

Anush Agarwalla to get assistance from TOPS funding

Apart from Mira, the MOC has also allowed Equestrian player Anush Agarwalla to participate in eight competitions and will be buying the equipment for his horses. TOPS will also take care of his and his coach’s accommodation costs, entry fees, 2 horse feed costs, coach fees, and horse groom.

The MOC also allowed Judoka Ashmita Dey’s permission to play in the Grand Prix, which will be held in Austria, and has also allowed shooter Arjun Singh Cheema to take financial assistance to play in the ISAS Dortmund competition.

At the same time, Inia’s star tennis player’s request to provide financial assistance to participate in two international competitions has also been approved by MOC. Their airfare, accommodation cost, coaching Fees, and physio/Fitness coach/Mental trainer Fees will be taken care of by the TOPS funding.

The other decisions that the MOC made in the meeting were to provide financial assistance to the vide analyst of shuttlers Satwik-Chirag to extend the contract of weightlifter Jeremy Lalrinnunga’s physiotherapist and finally help athlete Amoj Jacob to help him buy his equipment.
