Honeywell Technologies to supply process solutions for Hengyi Industries’ Brunei PMB Phase II project

Bengaluru, October 15, 2026: Honeywell Technologies (Nasdaq: HON) has announced it will provide process technologies, licensing, engineering, proprietary equipment, catalysts, and technical support services for Phase II of Hengyi Industries’ Pulau Muara Besar (PMB) petrochemical project in Brunei.

The PMB expansion is expected to increase the facility’s crude-processing capacity to approximately 20 million metric tons annually, with new hydrocracking, aromatics complex, and dehydrogenation units planned to rank among the largest of their kind globally.

Honeywell UOP solutions for PMB

Honeywell Technologies UOP will deploy process solutions including CCR Platforming™, Unicracking™, Unionfining™, Butamer™, and C4 Oleflex™, along with a full Aromatics Complex based on light desorbent Parex™ technology, for the PMB Phase II project. The companies previously collaborated on Phase I, where Honeywell supplied process technologies, engineering design, key equipment, catalysts, adsorbents, operator training, and technical services for start-up and ongoing operations.

Executive perspectives on partnership

Rajesh Gattupalli, President of Honeywell Technologies UOP, said the company’s technologies are designed to help PMB improve efficiency and reliability while enabling diversification into higher-value petrochemicals to meet market demands. Chen Liancai, CEO of Hengyi Industries Sdn. Bhd., noted that the successful implementation of Honeywell solutions in Phase I strengthened Hengyi’s integrated refining and petrochemical value chain and supported Brunei’s efforts to expand its downstream industries.
