Privately-held Himalayan Re-Insurance has been approved by the IRDAI to carry out reinsurance business from India.
Within a short period of its establishment, Himalayan Re-Insurance has expanded its business to 31 countries, reported The Kathmandu Post.
Himalayan Re-Insurance has completed the process of issuing shares to the general public.
Himalayan Re was founded as the first private-sector reinsurance company established in Nepal. The reinsurer started operations in July 2021 as Nepal’s second reinsurer after its licence was approved two months earlier.
