Goa Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte Promotes Goa at TTF Kolkata 2026

Kolkata, July 10, 2026 (BFN Bureau): Shri Rohan A. Khaunte, Hon’ble Minister for Tourism, Government of Goa, led the state’s delegation at TTF (Travel & Tourism Fair) Kolkata 2026, promoting Goa as a destination for leisure, MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions), and weddings.

The event highlighted direct IndiGo flights between Kolkata and Goa, which operate multiple times a week with a flying time of under three hours. Minister Khaunte emphasized that Goa should be considered not just for beach holidays but as a comprehensive destination for various types of travel.

Goa Beyond Beaches

During his address at the Goa Tourism stall, Minister Khaunte outlined the state’s “Goa Beyond Beaches” vision, which aims to reposition Goa around cultural experiences, hinterland tourism, and spiritual circuits, in addition to its coastal attractions. He stated, “Kolkata is barely a three-hour, non-stop flight from Goa — there is no reason West Bengal should only think of us for a beach holiday. We want couples planning a wedding, companies planning a conference, and families planning a getaway to see Goa as their first choice.”

A Growing Case for MICE

Goa’s credentials in the MICE sector have strengthened, with events like India Energy Week 2026 attracting over 75,000 delegates. The state recorded 28.5 lakh visitor arrivals in the first quarter of 2026, with MICE and destination weddings being significant contributors to this growth.

“We have the connectivity, we have the venues, and we have a state that is investing seriously in hospitality, heritage and experiences that go well beyond the coastline,” added Minister Khaunte.
