Chipmakers together with ASMC, BYD Semiconductor, China Resources Microelectronics, Fuji Electronics, Infineon Technologies, Nexperia and STMicroelectronics have introduced new 200mm fabs to meet rising demand.

The SEMI 200mm Fab Outlook to 2025 report reveals fab capability for automotive and energy semiconductors rising at a charge of 58% from 2021 to 2025, adopted by MEMS at 21%, foundry at 20% and analog at 14%.

Regional Outlooks

China will lead the world in 200mm capability expansions with a 66% improve by 2025, adopted by Southeast Asia at 35%, Americas at 11%, Europe and Mideast at 8%, and Korea at 2%. In 2022, China is anticipated to declare 21% share of worldwide 200mm fab capability, adopted by Taiwan and Japan at 11% and 10%, respectively.
