DHL Express appoints Sandeep Juneja as South Asia and India head

Mumbai, November 2, 2026: DHL Express has named Sandeep Juneja as Senior Vice President for South Asia and Managing Director for India, effective November 1, 2026. Juneja succeeds R. S. Subramanian, who will move to Blue Dart as Managing Director.

Juneja, who joined DHL Express in 2004 and has served on the India Management Board since 2007, brings over 30 years of professional experience, including more than two decades with the company. He has held senior leadership roles in sales, marketing, and commercial functions, and has led the company’s commercial function in India since 2013.

Leadership transition and regional focus

In his new role, Juneja will oversee DHL Express operations across India as well as Nepal, Bhutan, the Maldives, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh. His mandate includes strengthening customer partnerships, capturing growth opportunities, and delivering sustainable business growth in the region.

Ken Lee, CEO for Asia Pacific at DHL Express, said India and South Asia are among the most dynamic markets in the region, with significant opportunities for international trade. “Capturing that opportunity requires strong market knowledge, close customer relationships and an organization that can translate ambition into sustainable growth. Sandeep brings all three,” Lee said.

Market outlook and strategic priorities

According to the DHL Globalization Tracker, South & Central Asia is projected to have the second fastest trade growth globally between 2026 and 2029, following the Middle East & North Africa. India has recently signed trade agreements with the EU, UK, EFTA, New Zealand, and Oman, enabling businesses to diversify trade partners and strengthen supply chain resilience.

Juneja has played a key role in shaping DHL Express India’s commercial strategy, focusing on customer development, strategic pricing, digitalization, and new growth opportunities. He said, “With India and Bangladesh among our Group’s high-growth markets, there are significant opportunities for businesses to expand across the region. Building on R S Subramanian’s strong foundation, my focus will be on our customers, our people and delivering sustainable growth and excellent service.”
