The Delhi High Court reiterated its earlier order asking SpiceJet to file statements of accounts and affidavit of assets within a week. SpiceJet chief Ajay Singh will be present in the court on that day. Earlier, Kalanithi Maran had claimed that SpiceJet’s liability to them is now Rs 393 crore. “SpiceJet has orchestrated a deliberate design to defy the orders of court”. Maran wants the Delhi HC to direct the carrier to pay 50 percent of its daily cash collection on a weekly basis till the entire Rs 393 crore is paid.

Indian shares are set to open marginally higher on Wednesday after China’s consumer prices logged a smaller-than-expected fall in July, ahead of U.S. inflation data and Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) policy decision due this week. Fire breaks out at plywood shop in Delhi

A massive fire broke out at a plywood shop in New Delhi’s Gandhi Nagar area in the wee hours of Wednesday. There were no immediate reports of any loss of life or injuries in the blaze. Amandeep, the owner of the shop, said, the fire broke out at 3.30 am on Wednesday. After receiving the word of the incident, as many as eleven fire tenders were rushed to the scene and an dousing operation was launched.
