California Assembly Investigating Insurance Withdrawals from the State

The California Assembly is investigating the growing insurance crisis in the Golden State. Speaker Robert Rivas is ordering a series of public hearings this fall. They will be focused on access to comprehensive insurance coverage, wildfires and catastrophes and understanding the challenges facing consumer and the community. Democratic caucus members have been meeting regularly in recent weeks. In a statement, they say they are “standing at the ready” to assist the Insurance Commissioner in his authority to address the crisis. Several big name insurance companies have already decided to limit or no longer renew policies for California homeowners and businesses.
