Bhopal, 17 January 2021 : The Bhopal Finale of the prestigious Global Student Entrepreneurship Award (GSEA) organized by the Bhopal Chapter of Entrepreneurs Organization (EO) concluded late yesterday evening. In this finale organized online in collaboration with AIC RNTU, 7 student entrepreneurs of various colleges and universities gave their business presentations. The winners were announced by Siddharth Chaturvedi, GSEA Vertical Chair of EO, Bhopal Chapter. The first prize of the competition was won by Aman Porwal of Momskart while Abdul Basit Sabuwala of Holo Education was the first runner up. Akshat Baheti of Pinakulo received the second runner up award. Aman and Abdul will get a chance to join the GSEA National Finale to be held from February 11 to 13.
It is noteworthy that 8 mentoring sessions for EO GSEA participants were conducted by AIC-RNTU and EO members. During these sessions, these student entrepreneurs were given guidance on topics like Basic of Entrepreneurship, Sales & Marketing and Business Model Canvas. Organizations that supported the competition include AIC-RNTU, Unitus Capital, Headstart, B-Nest, Wadhwani Foundation, JLU Foundation and AWS Activate.
Nidhi Aggarwal, Chairperson, EO, Bhopal Chapter, said that eminent business leaders of the city Yogesh Khakre, Animesh Jain, Abhishek Gupta and Vibhanshu Kumar were invited to judge the competition. She said that the collective experiences of entrepreneurs, who are part of EO, helps the student entrepreneurs grow faster through this event. It is a programme to give back to the society.
On this occasion, Shashank Randev, the founder member of Venture Capital Company 100X and the special guest, gave useful tips to new startups to raise funds for their businesses and make their place in the market. He suggested startups that they should be able to present an effective elevator pitch between 30 and 60 seconds. “You should not dive into business on assumptions. And, if you are looking for investment your presentation should compulsorily include money management aspect” he cautioned. He also said that the investor gives more weightage to practicality and your passion than the business idea.
First prize winner Aman Porwal said that he derived his business idea from a food lovers desire to try the dishes of different states and regions. To execute the idea he floated an eCommerce startup – Momskart – and tied-up with more than 500 women who are experts in cooking. These women prepare healthy and tasty local dishes and his startup delivers them to food lovers across the country. Today they are delivering more than 1 thousand non perishable sweet and other types of home made dishes on more than 20 thousand pincodes. They are also taking help of food bloggers and logistics and payment companies to scale up the business.
Abdul Basit Sabuwala of Holo Education said that his startup Holo Education is providing online 3D classroom facility to make school education interesting and easily understandable. His start up mainly covers difficult topics like Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Besides India, they are tying up with schools located in USA, UK and UAE etc.
Second runner up Akshat Baheti said that he has started a startup named Pinakulo to solve the problems related to personal mentoring and career guidance of students. He said that more than 10 crore Indian youth need proper guidance to choose a career that matches their abilities.
