The government of Maharashtra is organising the state’s first investor summit in Mumbai called “Magnetic Maharashtra: Convergence 2018” to attract investors to explore business opportunities in the state of Maharashtra.
Subhash Desai, state industry minister said on Sunday that they are hoping to sign investment pacts worth Rs 10 lakh crore at the event that would help generate 3.5 million jobs in the state at the three-day event.
Who will inaugurate the event?
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the Magnetic Maharashtra Converge 2018 Global Investment Summit on February 18 in Mumbai at the MMRDA Grounds, Bandra-Kurla Complex, Mumba
On the first day, PM Modi and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will hold discussion over tea. This will be followed by a cultural event.
The three-day global investor summit will be held from February 18-20 that will see participation from major global and domestic companies. Richard Branson, founder and chairman of Virgin Atlantic Group; Tonino Lamborghini, Lamborghini; Edward Monser, President, Emerson Electric Co; Hande Diltemiz, country manager, Global production, India, H&M; Cho Hyun-Joon, chairman, Hyosung Group; Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, group chairman and CEO, DP World; Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and MD, Reliance Industries; and Anand Mahindra, chairman of Mahindra Group are expected to attend the event.
The event is expected to have sectoral focus and display the state’s prowess in the following areas automobiles/auto components, defence, food processing, IT/ITes, electronics, heavy engineering and pharmaceuticals.
The event will be open business visitors from 10 am to 2 pm and general public from 2 pm to 6 pm.
