The contracts, awarded through Notifications of Award, comprise Lot 1 under package TL01 valued at ₹474.85 crore and Lot 2 under package TL02 valued at ₹474.50 crore. Both packages involve the supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of ±800 kV high-voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission lines on a turnkey basis, with a completion period of 38 months from the date of award.
Scope of the HVDC transmission project
The project aims to strengthen power transmission infrastructure in Rajasthan by deploying HVDC technology, which is designed for efficient long-distance electricity transmission. The work will require specialised engineering, detailed planning, and coordination across multiple stages.
Recent orders and international projects
The Power Grid awards follow JSL’s recent ₹689.93 crore order from Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation Limited (GETCO) for the 765 kV DC Pachchham–Saykha Transmission Line project in Gujarat.
