Expert says: Well researched Ayurvedic Rasayanas made up of natural herbs and minerals work wonders with moderate home remedies
August 2020: Home remedies have been an integral part of Indian culture since time immemorial. Gone are the days when people used home remedies for every indisposition, and even today despite advances in medical science, we first look for available home remedies as the first step of intervention for relief. However, the moderate use of home remedies is effective while the excessive use may be harmful in certain cases because everything may not be good for everybody in the long term.
During COVID-19 times as the people have been staying mostly in the houses, the usage of home remedies has been increased significantly. More so, considering the role of immunity in combating COVID-19, people have largely used herbal-based home remedies to boost immunity in tandem with Ayurveda guidelines. Thus, it is important to learn the correct use of home remedies and avoid its excessive use and for that one must know one’s Prakriti or body-type.
“The usage of ‘home remedies’ to some extent in normal illnesses is good, but you can’t fix all disorders with this. The home remedies prepared in kitchens do not contain an adequate amount of ingredients, sometimes either it is more or less. Therefore, the excessive use of home remedies is not efficacious always. Else, using a combination of moderate home remedies with the well-researched Ayurvedic Rasayanas made up of natural herbs and minerals work wonders because Rasayanas are supposed to be more efficacious as these have the characteristics to increase or decrease some aspect of the bodily processes to create the perfect balance”, remarked Mr Anand Shrivastava, Chairman, Maharishi Ayurveda.
Ayurveda Perspective of Home Remedies and Rasayana
In the digital world where people try to get every information by a single click which helps in fixing their problems, but it doesn’t work everywhere like curing illnesses. Nowadays, the trend of home remedies has been gathering momentum as people prefer ‘natural-therapies’. But, due to ignorance, people more often tend to use the home remedies excessively landing up in problems.
According to Ayurveda, by using a variety and combination of medicinal plants and spices with detoxification value and combined with specific diet and lifestyle changes, the body, mind and spirit can be rebalanced. To some extent, the use of home remedies work well, but excessive use may bring harm. However, if the home remedies, which are nowadays being used for immunity boosting, are supplemented with some well-composed Rasayana, it may work wonders. As all the home remedies are not scientifically validated, however, the Rasayanas are well-researched and composed.
A well-researched Rasayana has a vital impact on the immune system. It is key to prevent any illness. It is obvious that if the defence mechanism of an individual is enhanced with any effective Ayurvedic Rasayana, then he or she will be able to cope with the infection faster and with much fewer damages. Maharishi Amrit Kalash is one of the most well known Rasayanas for health and longevity. It is a well-researched Ayurvedic proprietary Rasayana that is enriched with the goodness and synergistic combination of 53 time-tested natural herbs and minerals. It boosts Immunity, slows premature ageing, improves vitality, de-stresses, detoxifies and improves mental alertness by restoring inner balance better.
“Home remedies are an effective and cheap way to cure myriads of problems. However, most of them generally used are either strongly recommended by friends who have tried them or seen great results or by family members as an age-old remedy. However, while home remedies may work for you or someone you know, this approach to self-treatment may require some trial and error. And it doesn’t work in everyone’s case equally, because each body constitution is different and unique. Sometimes the excessive use of home remedies brings more harm than good. To balance the treatment regimen, it is wise to make out a moderate combination of Rasayanas and the home remedies under the guidance of qualified Vaidya”, said, Dr Saurabh Sharma, Medical Superintendent, Maharishi Ayurveda Hospital.
Excessive use of home remedies may not always be safe and effective — it varies from person to person. It’s effective for someone but not for others. As a single study or clinical trial doesn’t always cover diverse communities or bodies.
