Gurgaon, December 19th, 2016:  Coca-Cola India, today announced senior leadership changes with the objective to build stronger talent, keeping in pace with opportunities offered by the fast changing external environment. Sameer Wadhawan, currently Vice President Human Resources will spearhead the newly created function of Franchise Capability & Business Transformation,which will be focused on building new capabilities and high calibre talent pool in the company’s Franchise bottling system. Sameer will continue to report to Venkatesh Kini and will take over his new responsibility starting January, 2017.

Sameer has led the Human Resources & Shared Service function for over 6 years.Over these years, he has played a significant role in leading the talent management strategy for the Coca-Cola India and South West Asia (SWA) business unit, making India a significant contributor to the global talent pool. With a career spanning over 25 years, he has worked across a diverse set of industries including Nokia Siemens Network, Cadence Design Systems India (Pvt.) Limited, Hewlett-Packard India Ltd, Duracell India Limited and Ranbaxy Laboratories Limited.

In his new role effective January 2017, Sameer will work closely with Coca-Cola’s 15 Franchise bottling partners in the India and South West Asia region to build their people capability, and help transform their business to be future ready. The India and SWA business of The Coca-Cola Company aspires to be the fifth largest market for the Company, globally and the bottling teams will have a significant role to play in achieving the target.

Sameer will be succeeded by Manu Narang Wadhwa, who joins the Coca-Cola family from American Express where she served for nine years. She has over two decades of experience in driving transformational people strategies for growth, focusing on talent management, leadership development and transformation agendas. Prior to Amex, Manu worked at GE in various roles. She is a graduate of the GE Human Resources Leadership Program (HRLP) and started her career as a Finance Analyst with Tata Unisys, responsible for branch accounting & financial analysis.

Announcing the appointments, Venkatesh Kini, President, Coca-Cola India and South West Asia, said, “I welcome aboard Manu Narang Wadhwa as she takes over our ‘People’ function from Sameer. Over the last six years Sameer has shaped the talent development and capability building agenda within the Company. Sameer takes on this business critical role of developing capabilities for the franchise bottling operations across the region. Manu and Sameer therefore have the onerous responsibility of shaping the ‘People’ agenda within the Company and the larger Coca-Cola system. I wish both of them success in their new roles.”
