Vishakhapatnam November, 2019: The global average fertility rate is just below 2.5 children per woman today. Over the last 50 years the global fertility rate has halved. And over the course of the modernization of societies the number of children per woman decreased substantially.

The total fertility rate in India too has similar trends which has more than halved in both urban and rural areas, falling even below the replacement level. In Urban it is 1.7, down from 4.1 in 1971. In rural areas, TFR has fallen from 5.4 to 2.4 during the same period. There are very similar reports emerging in Vishakapatnam with TFR being 1.8

Today with a conclave of 300 Gynecologists we are discussing & Creating awareness of the various advance treatments and their outcomes in the presence of experts from PAN India. The ART (Assisted Reproductive Techniques) Conclave is being organized by Oasis Fertility, The No.1 Fertility clinic in AP & Telangana in association with Obstetrics & Gynecology society of Vishakhapatnam(OGSV) & Indian Society for Assisted Reproduction (ISAR)- AP Chapter. Talking about the objective of conducting the Artificial Reproductive Techniques Conclave

Dr Durga G Rao, Co- Founder and Medical Director of Oasis Fertility stated that “At a lot of Conferences like these, the IVF subject has been discussed and debated in detail, but the value we bring on the table today is the consensus on the Future of the fertility treatment options with the help of latest and innovative technologies by some of the best natatioal talent in the country. Today we are privileged as speakers like Dr N Sanjeeva Reddy Sir, Dr Sonal Panchal, Dr Sonia Malik and Dr Fessy Louis are with us today  to share the knowledge with the Gynaec fraternity in Vishakapatnam “ Adding more she said “At the end of it we need the participants to get empowered with knowledge and recent updates on fertility treatment aspects so that they can start treating more of infertile couples also as it is being done in association with OGSV the clinicians will be awarded 2 credit points for attending this conclave”

Talking on the occasion Dr Krishna Chaitanya – Scientific Head and Clinical Embryologist of Oasis Fertility said that “In India the general notion or myth is that infertility clinics are meant only for treating women, the entire male infertility gamut is just ignored. According to Journal of Reproductive Sciences “Male factor” infertility is seen as an alteration in sperm concentration and/or motility and/or morphology in at least one sample of two sperm analyzes, collected 1 and 4 weeks apart, in India, nearly 50% of infertility is related to the reproductive anomalies or disorders in the male. Hence it is important that the male infertility is evaluated completely when a couple come forward for fertility treatment. We, at Oasis pride ourselves about the impeccable standards we maintain in our IVF lab which is an advanced lab. The lab is crucial for the treatments offered at our centre and we ensure that the highest level of quality is maintained here. Our lab is one of the very few labs in India that has proper Total Quality Management in place which optimizes the results of the Assisted Reproductive Techniques. We are first in AP to provide advanced services like PGS/ PGD /IVM/ mTESE/ Vitrification/ Fertility preservation”.

Speaking on the occasion Dr Radhika Potluri – Clinical Head and Fertility Specialist at Oasis Fertility, said that “We are excited to get the 2nd Edition of ART Conclave to Vishakhapatnamcity and I am particularly more exited as it is my home town and I am happy that I am helping the deserving couples Vishakhapatnam to embark their journey on parenthood, Vishakhapatnam has seen a huge increase in terms of awareness and also an increase in number of male fertility in last 10-15 years, we come across both male and female fertility issues in our Centre and mostly it is due to the genetic disorders, obesity, environmental pollution, lifestyle issues, stress and a very particular issue in the state of AP  is the exposure to pesticides, the other peculiar phenomenon we encounter in the state is that the mean age in at least 40 to 45 percent of the infertile couple has been actually falling from 35 plus to 30 plus which is an alarming situation”. “
