State level kabaddi tournament starts at Children Welfare Centre High School Mumbai

Mumbai:A two day long State Level Kabaddi tournament – 2019-2020 for the children below 17 years, was organized jointly by the District Sports Council, Mumbai suburban district collectorate and Children Welfare Centre High School at CWC ground,Yari Road, Versova, Andheri West, from 1st November to 2nd November 2019, under the aegis of the Directorate of Sports & Youth Services, Maharashtra State, Pune.The tournament was inaugurated in the morning on 1st November by hoisting a flag and lighting a torch. The balloons of tricolour were released in the air making the event colourful.To suit the occasion the ground was decorated on grand scale by the Children Welfare Centre High School.

MLA Dr Bharati Lavekar, Kapil Patil, Deputy Director, Mumbai division of the Directorate of Sports and Youth Services N B Mote, Children Welfare Centre High School Principal Ajay Kaul, Activity Chairman Prashant Kashid, Corporator Pratima Khopade, Mumbai Suburbs Kabaddi Association Secretary Ramesh Hariyan, Sr Police Inspector Raghvendra Thakur, District Sports Officer Suvarna Bartakke, Panch Committee Secretary Datta Zizurate, Shekhar Ravde, Corporator Yogiraj Dabhadkar and international kabaddi player Sayali Jadhav graced the occasion.

The teams from Kolhapur, Nagpur, Amravati, Latur, Mumbai, Nashik, Pune and Aurangabad participated in the tournament on the first day. A separate team of boys and girls from every district participated.
