Bhopal : March , 2019 : Chief Electoral Officer V.L. Kanta Rao told the representatives of recognized political parties to ensure that all political parties follow the Model Code of Conduct in the Lok Sabha elections, so that the Lok Sabha election 2019 can be held in a peaceful, credible and transparent manner. In a meeting with the political parties, Kanta Rao said that elections will be held in the state in last four phases.
Rao said that this time it will be mandatory for the voters to have an alternative identity card along with the voter slip for voting in Lok Sabha elections. All political parties have been urged to use eco-friendly promotional material in the election campaign. Complaints can be lodged during the election campaign on C-Vigil app and 1950 toll free number.
The Commission has told the political parties not to use the photographs of employees and officers of the security forces and of any programme of the Army in election campaigning and advertisements. GPS will be installed in the vehicles to be used for transport of V.V. PAT and E.V.M. Online and offline applications for permissions to use vehicles, sites, loudspeakers etc. in the election campaign can be made to the concerned officers.

Action under Defacement of Property Act is in progress in all the districts of the state. Government vehicles cannot be used in political campaign. Religious sites will not be used for political propaganda. Chief Electoral Officer Kanta Rao said that with the implementation of Model Code of Conduct soon after the announcement of election, all the district officials have been instructed to produce the list of construction works going on in the districts within 72 hours.
