Bhopal : Thursday, February 28, 2019 : The Governor Smt. Anandiben Patel told students to make practical use of education for the country and society. She was addressing the convocation ceremony of the Jiwaji Vishwavidyalaya, Gwalior. There is also a need for change in education sector with the changing times. In order to bring quality and improvement in education, research is needed at wide scale, she added.
Smt. Patel told the students that college education is a transit point; efforts should be made to always learn. She mentioned that subjects should be chosen in such a manner which ensures contribution in the development. Students can tell the government how the schemes should be executed by providing their report and feedback.
Drawing attention towards the environment conservation, the Governor said that peepal tree is worshipped in the Indian culture with a scientific view that it gives oxygen 24 hours. She further mentioned that at least 50 plants in each university should be planted. Giving an example of a woman of Uttarakhand, who have been honoured with Padam for her outstanding works in environment conservation, Smt. Patel said that an illiterate woman has given her contributions with firm determination in environment conservation.
The Minister for Higher Education Jeetu Patwari said that youth must set a target and work hard to achieve it. Advising students to work hard to realize their dreams, he said that they should progress by understanding the importance of time. Patwari further stated that an amount of Rs. 390 crore is being given this year by the state government for the colleges of Gwalior and Chambal division. Efforts are being made to improve the standard of higher education in Madhya Pradesh, he added.

Padam Dr. Uma Tuli, the founder of the Amar Jyoti Sansthan said that we have to pay attention on integrated education today. Besides education, the students can only be made strong by the skill development.
The Governor Smt. Patel distributed fruits among the differently abled children of Amar Jyoti Sansthan during the convocation ceremony. The Vice Chancellor of the University Smt. Sangeeta Shukla and Professors of various departments were present on the occasion.
