Hyderabad, February , 2019: World renowned spiritual leader, Her Holiness Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, affectionately known to her devotees across the globe as “Amma,” is undertaking a ‘Bharat Yatra.‘ Amma is setting out on this Yatra primarily to reach out to the poor and needy and spread the message of love and serve, besides blessing the large community of her devotees.
As part of the Bharat Yatra, Amma is at Hyderabad for two days, today being the second day of her trip. Amma during her stay in Hyderabad at the Mata Amritanandamayi Math, Mahendra Hills, East Marredpally, is holding satsang, bhajans, meditation, through her spiritual discourse providing guidance and blessing to each of the devotees with he signature hugging darshan. Several politicians, prominent citizens along with common devotees are visiting her and are seeking Ammas blessings during the two days.
On the Second day of her visit, devotees thronged the Mata Amritanandamayi Math in large numbers, to seek the Hugging Saint’s – as she is fondly known amongst her devotees, blessings, listen to her spiritual discourse and be part of the melodious and soul touching bhajans she renders. Several politicians, prominent citizens along with common devotees will seek Ammas blessings during the two days. On today, February 26th, 2019, Sri Mynampally Hanumantha Rao, MLA, Malkajgiri, and Sri N Ramchander Rao, MLC, BJP Senior Leader will seek her blessings.
Apart from numerous charitable activities that Mata Amritanandamayi Math carries out, like Amrita Nidhi (free monthly pension program for widows), free medical services etc., to make our villages self-reliant and role models of sustainable development, Amma has initiated a unique program – ‘The Amrita SeRVe‘ (Self Reliant Villages). As part of The Amrita SeRVe, Amma has adopted two villages, one each in both the states – Kodur in Medak district in Telangana and Gudipaticheruvu in Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh.
Indian Institute of Rise and Research (IIRR) is supporting the testing of soil of fifty farmers from both the Amma’s adopted villages. In coming days, 250 farmers from these villages will avail this support. Subsequently, it will be extended to the neighboring villages.
On the day of Amma’s visit, out of this fifty beneficiaries, as a token gesture, the soil analysis report will be handed over to a small group of farmers.
In order to spread the awareness and educate people about soil testing, a soil testing kit will be displayed at the venue.
Additionally, Mata Amritanandamayi Math is planning to support 34 villages all over India by way of imparting training on soil testing and agriculture, both technical as well as natural farming.
In near future, Mata Amritanandamayi Math intends to adopt more villages in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
In Kodur, Mata Amritanandamayi Math has installed ‘Compressed Mud Block’ making unit, which will be eco-friendly and stronger alternative to existing bricks. This unit will help villagers to earn their livelihood. This new initiative will be announced during Mata AmritanandamayiAmma’s Hyderabad public program.
As part of green initiative, Mata Amritanandamayi Math has organized the planting of more than a million trees globally since 2001. Every year thousands of sapling and organic seeds are distributed by Mata Amritanandamayi Math.
