IIM Lucknow sees 50% rise in finance profiles in summer placements


Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow saw a 50 percent increase in the finance profiles offered during its summer placement process this year. The business school has completed the summer placements of its batch of 459 students.

The top segments based on roles offered were sales & marketing (35 percent), consulting (20 percent), finance (25 percent), e-commerce (10 percent), systems/IT (5 percent), and general management (5 percent).

“The strong economic situation supported IIM Lucknow in attracting diverse new roles in the finance domain. Rest of the offers came from domains such as market research, analytics, business development, social media marketing and HR among others,” said the institute in a statement.

The recruitment drive saw participation from more than 150 domestic and international recruiters. In this season, finance domain roles such as investment banking and capital markets were offered with companies like Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Citi Markets and JPMorgan Chase recruiting from the campus.

The top four segments based on roles offered were sales & marketing, finance, consulting and business development and the rest of the offers came from domains such as operations/supply chain, general management, systems/IT, market research, analytics and HR.

Some of the top recruiters across different sectors were Accenture Strategy, Aditya Birla Group, Amazon, A.T. Kearney, Cipla, Deutsche Bank, EY, Flipkart, Hindustan Unilever Limited, ITC Limited, Mahindra & Mahindra, McKinsey & Co., P&G, Boston Consulting Group, Uber and Vodafone.

Some of the first time recruiters include Allergan, Bajaj Auto, Capgemini, Diageo, Exide industries Limited, Puma, Sanofi, Shell and United Phosphorous Limited among others.

There were international profiles offered by companies like AB InBev, Deutsche Bank and Hindustan Unilever Limited. On the pharma/healthcare front, Cipla, Allergan and Sanofi recruited from the campus for the first time.
