Higher Education Becomes Easy for Poor Students


Bhopal : Saturday, October 7, 2017: Mukhya Mantri Medhavi Vidhyarthi Yojana is proved to be a boon for children belonging to poor section of the society for pursuing higher education. Now families do not have to beg before anyone to get their children admitted in any of the big institution. Whether it is Keshav Rathore of Jabalpur who got admitted in I.I.T or Ku. Jasmin Patel who has taken admission in M.B.B.S., they all are of the opinion that this scheme has made our parents tension free from the educational expenses.

Cases of 6816 Students Sanctioned

A total of 28 thousand 83 applications have been received under the Mukhya Mantri Medhavi Vidhyarthi Yojana till date. Among these, 15 thousand 897 applications have been verified by the various institutions and 6 thousand 816 applications have been sanctioned. Process to sanction remaining applications is underway.

Total 16 applications for admissions in courses being run in State and National Institutions of the union government beside 21 in law, 145 in medical, 327 in engineering and 54 in polytechnic courses have been verified. Similarly, applications of 15 thousand 72 students have been verified for admissions in various undergraduate courses being run in the state.

It may be mentioned that under the scheme, students who have secured 75 percent and above marks in 12th examination conducted by Board of Secondary Education, Madhya Pradesh and 85 percent and above marks obtained in CBSE/ICSE 12th examination are being benefitted. The benefit of the scheme is being extended to the students whose family annual income is less than Rs. 6 lakh.
